Customer Reviews : LG 47LD520 47-Inch
This review is from: LG 47LD520 47-Inch 1080p a hundred and twenty Hz LCD HDTV (Electronics)

Picture quality is nice, though I had to mess with the colour settings lots (I'm still undecided I've got it 100 correct). there's some slight discoloration round the edges, however this is often solely noticeable when the TV is displaying one solid color.

I can't stand to own the smoothing choice (called TruMotion) turned on. It's speculated to create TV look higher, however i feel it makes everything appear as if a soap opera. Luckily, it is simple to show off (Menu>Picture>TruMotion). Note: you will have to show off TruMotion for every individual input. TV can look to a small degree juddery while not the smoothing, however it is a limitation of all 120Hz TVs, and it is a whole ton higher than having TruMotion turned on (in my opinion).

That said, movies and video games look fantastic with the smoothing turned off. My Xbox 360 and PS3 games look nice, as do Blu-ray movies.

I maxed out the three HDMI ports pretty quickly (Xbox 360, PS3, DVR), however I figure if i want another one, it'd most likely be time to induce a receiver anyway. It ought to be noted that there's just one set of part inputs.

Speakers are fine, nothing to write down home concerning however they get the task done.

Remote needs you to purpose at a fairly specific spot (the lower-right corner of the TV). quite annoying, however I got used to it (I sit concerning ten feet away).

The swiveling stand is sweet (I flip it to face the kitchen when i am creating dinner), however it solely turns concerning twenty

Little background:
currently have 2 Plasmas within the household. i'm an enormous fan of their image quality, black levels, motion handling, and input lag (PS3 games).

Began around 3 months ago looking for a bigger TV, as my 50"" plasma simply wasn't cutting it on behalf of me in terms of size b/c we have a tendency to sit 14' removed from the screen. sadly, my built-in entertainment center width was a serious constraint. No plasma larger than 50"" might work (the 54"" G25 Panasonic was zero.5"" too wide!!). i started to appear at LEDs as they were engineered with thinner bezels and will therefore squeeze into my entertainment center and still have a diagonal of 55"".

I was terribly involved with some things after I purchased this TV:

1. image Quality (potential) issues

a) Flashlighting - scan anywhere on Edge-lit LEDs and this is often in all probability the #1 drawback that comes up. Please note that with this TV i don't watch in complete darkness. Watching in complete darkness tends to exacerbate any flashlighting or clouding issues you will see in an edge-lit set. As for my set, I will positively see some flashlighting from the corners on letterbox stuff or terribly dark scenes. i'm longing for it though. If I had not examine flashlighting onine I in all probability would have not noticed. My wife thinks i'm crazy. The flashlighting could depart once i purchase an opportunity to calibrate the set (I solely tinkered with the settings a little) however

I got this TV a number of weeks ago. very happy with the amount of ports (we used to possess an previous CRT with only one element input, thus we have a tendency to got used to switching cables all the time). we do not have HD cable nevertheless, however man this TV upscales terribly nicely, i used to be terribly afraid that normal def TV would seem like crap. But yea, when using my PS3 it's completely wonderful. i used to be conjointly worried regarding 60Hz, I nearly needed to maneuver up the 120Hz however as an informal user, i do not assume i would even notice the distinction.

The USB port on the facet is incredibly handy, and supports a stunning variety of file formats! nearly VLC, however far more than i would expect to be engineered into a TV. we have a tendency to keep an external HDD connected to the facet and keep all our media on it, it's sort of a inbuilt media center!

For the worth, it's positively the simplest TV out there.

I have had my Samsung TV for a couple of month currently and that i completely love it! I ordered it from amazon.com and when it arrived, the delivery men set it up for me! I did plenty of homework before selecting a TV to shop for, and Samsung invariably had the simplest ratings and reviews, however they were consistently higher priced. Samsung LCD HDTV 3D Samsung isn't solely reasonable, ($50 over the Vizio i used to be staring at shopping for,) it's numerous a lot of options (as well the maximum amount higher specs,) than the

Customer Reviews : Samsung PN50C450
The Wii and DVD are currently running through my receiver and 5 speakers and yes it sounds better through that They worked great!! I think I still need to bump down the skin tone setting one more notch but I'm very happy with the way it looks.

I then connected my Wii with the standard cables it came with. . But how are the Blacks you ask?: wouldn't you know that the blacks look It was ideal viewing with a pitch black room (it felt just like a movie theater) I actually heard one of my kids gasp because it looked so real.

Setup
Instructions on the box for removing the TV were clear. . Unfortunately ""dynamic"" is the mode for choice for my kids when they play the Wii This review is from: Samsung PN50C450 50-Inch 720p Plasma HDTV (Black) (Electronics)

Samsung PN50C450
I picked up my PN50C450 on Friday March 19th from BestBuy after months of research. In general I don't make purchases from BestBuy. I did the ""purchase online / pick up in store"" option and was very satisfied (I avoid sales people whenever possible :>). Sorry for the long review but it took me 4-5 months of research to pull the trigger on this TV. Here are my impressions. After a quick look at the assembly instructions (and sending my kids upstairs to play for 20 minutes) I screwed on the mounting bracket to the base. Just as I read on other reviews these screws did NOT go in easy. Samsung needs to address this as it doesn't instill confidence in the product when the first step in assembly has a minor glitch. Had a bit of a time getting the TV to lineup with the bracket (my issue not the TV). Put in the last 4 screws in the back and those went in much easier. Took a step back and looked at it, ""dude that thing is huge"" (large smile on my face)

Power On
Now the moment of truth......IS IT GOING TO BUZZ? I powered it on and........not a sound to be heard... totally silent! For a second I thought maybe I didn't power it on but the little ""musical tone"" went off indicating that it was on. This was my #1 concern with all the things I read about buzzing. Maybe I got lucky, maybe I just can't hear a buzz or maybe it's not as much as an issue as everyone keeps saying? Sure, I stuck my head behind the TV over the next few days and really tried to listen for a buzzing sound. I found if I got on a stool and put my ear really close to the top of the TV (careful it gets hot) I could hear the sound of ""electricity"" same as my old CRT TV. IN SHORT NO BUZZING.

Connecting Stuff
HDMI: After some research about the whole HDMI controversy (Monster vs cheap cable) Cnet put everything in perspective for me, ""it's digital, just get the cheapest cable you can find"". Believe it or not BigLots had a gold plated 6' HDMI cable for $12.00 (BestBuy's least expensive was $29.99). So I picked up one HDMI cable, 4 cans of diced tomatoes, yellow mustard and a 6 pack of root beer (God Bless America).

I connected the HDMI to my U-verse box and immediately went to the first HD channel I could find. I then switch to the corresponding SD channel and flipped back and forth several times. It's a big difference between SD and HD (although my kids and my wife didn't seem to care, but they have not yet given into HD madness). The picture was obviously not HD but that was to be expected with the Wii. PQ was fine for gaming. The new Super Mario Brothers is way more fun (4 player mode) when you have so much digital real-estate to play on. I'm going to pick up a set of component cables just as a few people at AVS forum recommended . Overall the PQ was fine for gaming.

I don't have a Blu-Ray player yet so I did a test with my DVD player. Movies looked good after fussing with the screen size settings. I know Blu-ray DVD up scaling will be a significant improvement.
I also need to pick up an antenna so I can get OTA HD channels. From what I've read the OTA signal is not compressed (like my U-verse signal) so I'm excited to see what kind of results I can get.

TV Viewing and Settings
Right out of the box in ""Standard Mode"" the picture looked kind of dark and the colors were kind of flat. I then scrolled through to ""Movie"" mode. That was much better but still the colors were not super impressive. Then I switch to ""Dynamic"".....who the heck came up with this setting? Very bright and colors looked like a carnival. I guess that would be the only time you would need this setting?

In order to get the best picture I took the advice of many of you and tweaked the movie mode settings. Thank you [...] users for posting the custom settings.

There is a lot of talk about Black Lines, Screen Doors, Dither etc..... I don't seem to have any of these issues (maybe ignorance is bliss?). I do get a little pixilation on HD channels sometimes but I think that has more to do with my HD signal being compressed (thanks AT&T).

Glare: I have the TV in a corner of our room that has a window flanking the left of the TV and a sliding glass door facing from the other room. Sure you get some glare in the middle of the day but if you just draw the curtains (and I'm not talking about black-out shades, just normal curtains) its fine. At certain angles at night I can see a lamp or kitchen light reflecting on the screen. I've found that most lights have these things called switches which allow you to turn them on/off. That seems to solve the problem :>)

Image Burn/retention: This was another major concern I had prior to purchasing plasma in general. I've come to the conclusion that as long as you don't spend 5 hours straight playing COD4 with the brightness up to 100, image burn is not an issue. I'd say our family is average when it comes to TV use. We've played the Wii and watched movies/TV and over the last week I have never seen any indication of image burn (and trust me I've been looking for it). And NO I didn't run any break in DVD's either.

Sound: With the way people complain about the sound I thought it was going to be like listening to the TV via a tin can and string. Do the speakers compare to a separate surround sound system running from a receiver....NO. Are you going to hear chest thumping bass when you watch a movie...NO. Relax people, the sound on the TV is just fine. All of my u-verse TV viewing is done exclusively via the TV speakers right now. I watched a concert the other night and I thought it sounded great. But that is to be expected.

General PQ: The real test was last Sunday night when Discovery showed their LIFE series. The whole family sat down to watch our new Plasma. My youngest wasn't too happy with all the HD close ups of bugs and kept his hands over his eyes because it looked too real. I personally couldn't believe how clear the picture was. I'm finding out that not all HD channels are the same. Some have great HD and some are so/so. That's more of the fault of u-verse and the compression they use on their HD channels. But after watching that I was sold!!!! I know that Blu-ray is going to be even better than this experience. 720P: When I was in BestBuy this TV was right next to a 1080P TV and you could see a little bit more details when you were 2-3' away. But at 8-9' (my TV viewing) I couldn't see the difference. NON ISSUE FOR ME......well.....black (not grey). Very happy.

Gripes: I use my u-verse remote to watch TV. I only use the Samsung remote to switch inputs or change the screen setting. The Samsung remote is about as responsive as molasses in January. I'm not sure where they put the stupid sensor for the TV but it must be under the base. Switching from SD to HD shows and visa/versa and dealing with the different screen formats is a pain. HD looks great in 16:9 but then the SD shows are not full screen so you have to flip ""fit to screen"" to fix that. All of this screen gymnastics is getting old. I wish there was a setting to say, ""hello TV...just fill the screen for me to give me the best possible picture"". Swivel would be nice as it takes 2 people to ""swivel"" the TV manually. Since I don't have the component cables for my Wii I have to swap the DVD and Wii between the 1 in-put that supports them. I wish it had 1 more set of composite connections on the side. For now that's about it.

Conclusion: So far I love this TV. The only issue now is competing for screen time between the Kids/wife. I'm glad I got the 50"" as I know I would not have been happy with the 42"". For the price I don't think you can go wrong with this TV.

Update 6/10/10: I've had the TV for almost 3 months now and I am still enjoying it very much. For the most part I think it's ""broken in"" now. I did have to tweak some of my initial setting from when I got it. I did purchase a component cable for my Wii and it looks much better with the new cable. I really didn't have any issues with IR. Once in a while when my kids would go on a Wii binge you could see some IR but running the scrolling feature for a few min took care of that quick. I don't have a blu-ray player yet but the HD quality for AT&T U-verse is pretty good. Still no buzzing (never had an issue with mine). I did hook up a usb flash drive to it to view some pictures I put on it. Wow! it does a great job displaying pictures.

I'll report back when I get a Blu-ray player (maybe fathers day???).

I really suppose this LG has several things going for it. Nice style, straightforward to use controls, and sensible image. Sound is tinny, however barely adequate.

But...... I've had continuing issues with an intermittent image and sound downside. My native cable supplier did in depth diagnosis of the cable signal and it's over OK, therefore I shouldn't be obtaining this. attempting 2 different TV's connected to identical cable outlet haven't any downside. therefore it's gotta be the TV. If you wish to examine for yourself: [...]

Dealing with LG's client service has been an abysmal expertise. i am sending it back for warranty service for a fourth (!) time nowadays. I keep sending it in and that they either do nothing (can't reproduce the problem) or build some part modification out. however it's still not operating right and that i get nearly zero feedback except details of what they can not do on behalf of me..

While i favor the TV and therefore the LG blueray, i might be reluctant to shop for another based mostly on my expertise.

From the instant I opened the box, it had been obvious I had created the correct selection. Samsung LCD HDTV 3D TV oozes quality in each single manner.

The show is wonderful. it isn't a matte show, however it's a comparatively low reflection, not obnoxiously shiny like recent Apple product. the image appearance beautiful, even off angle, and also the unit and base have a high gloss black end.

The options are well lined within the specs on top of (Netflix HD streaming capability, YouTube, a inbuilt TV Guide using on-line information, DLNA support to play media off your computer over the network, 3D)

Looking for downsides, the utilization of the big 300x300 VESA mount is unfortunate, the show is light-weight and very does not would like such an outsized mount. The built-in stand uses a separate mount that's abundant smaller, and you'll build your own plate or L bracket for the show to slip onto.

The TV menus are within the kind of a PS3 (XMB), however a number of the animations are unacceptably slow. maybe this will be improved in an exceedingly later firmware upgrade. Also, not all menu choices are on the market till concerning thirty seconds when you switch on the show.

My show says it's ""Made in Mexico"".

Audio:
The built-in audio is suitable, however i believe most can wish to use external audio with this show. there is a non-obvious setting to show on ""S-Force Front Surround"" mode for the inner speakers that improves the percepti

This review is from: LG 32LD450 32-Inch 1080p sixty Hz LCD HDTV (Electronics)

After comparison buying a LCD set to interchange my current Sharp Aquos LC20D42U (also reviewed), I settled on this TV.

I'm not getting to write a book - however the subsequent are my initial impressions.

Given that my outgoing Sharp show had just one HDMI input, the LG's a pair of inputs are acceptable for my wants (HD cable/DVR & PS3) except for others with additional peripherals (stand alone Blu-Ray, DVD, multiple gaming consoles, etc), a pair of HDMI inputs might not be enough. The set conjointly features a part input (probably acceptable to be used w/ a non-upscaling DVD player).

Unboxing the TV in my front room, I cranked all my lights to visualize for blemishes / defects. whereas the TV was in smart condition, each the screen and also the shiny black bezel had hand/finger prints in multiple locations. i am unsure if this happened at the factory (made in Mexico) or if I got a unit that had been previously unboxed (manuals, remote, stand were all still in sealed plastic - thus i am guessing factory), however it had been to a small degree unsettling, even at this value purpose. It took me some additional minutes to wet a cloth and clean the TV before setting it up.

The shiny black bezel is unremarkable - it does not look unhealthy, however it will look (and feel) to a small degree low-cost. this is often not a TV i might mount or place conspicuously - particularly among top quality peripherals, audio equipment or because the anchor of a fashionable entertainment center (of course it's uncertain

First, let me clarify that the TV is, in fact, native 1080p. no doubt concerning it.

Second, the panel on this TV is created by Samsung, and also the quality is superb.

Third, TCL's web site encompasses a realize service center location search and it's quite in depth ..

Based on the 2 year warrantee, what i'm seeing with my TV and Amazons glorious delivery, i am giving this set a Best get rating ..

UPDATE 11/16/2010 .. this set is simply plain glorious .. and Amazon service is prime of the road .. my set developed a skinny blue vertical line, I contacted Amazon, they picked up the set consecutive day and delivered a brand new set at identical time .. onerous to beat that ..

Update 11/17/2010 .. it is a bit tiresome obtaining messages from people who 1) haven't got the TV and need to slam it during a public review 2)Know very little to zilch concerning TV's .. I had an electronic repair business for ten years and i have worked on plenty of TV's .. therefore i do know what i am talking concerning .. any TV by any maker isn't 100 percent excellent 100 percent of the time .. This review is from: Samsung UN40C6300 40-Inches 1080p LCD TV - Graphite (Electronics)

I purchased this Samsung once returning a 2010 46"" Sony EX500. Sony was continually a regular in quality on behalf of me, however one thing has very gone amis within the past few years. the tv simply lacked the deep black levels and crisp whites that build a formidable image. That aside, this model Samsung was a downgrade in screen size, however an enormous increase in quality.

The picture is superb. though there are some problems with very quick movement, making ""artifacts"", the image quality is great. The LED back-lighting is new in my household, thus we tend to weren't positive what to expect. The blacks are inky, and therefore the brights may sear eyeballs if you switch the brightness to most. Compared to the Sony, changing channels is super fast and therefore the remote management feels lighter and includes a additional intuitive layout. what is attention-grabbing to me is that the image this Samsung produces is far smoother than what I've witnessed on the other TV. regardless of the distinction their video-processing provides, I like it. this might sounds strange, however if you stare at this Samsung, versus nearly the other maker, you will be ready to recall additional of what you saw within the image. perhaps the image is simpler on your eyes, however within the finish it ""just works"".

Don't expect everything to be excellent though. In very quick scenes, the ""artifact"" problems are noticeable. there's additionally a screen uniformity issue on my unit

Even a back-weighted mini-VESA table mount would be preferable to this mount, provided it wasn't polished aluminum. This phenomenon is so prominent that you can tell exactly where the bleed is, even during scenes with motion in them. If you are like me and need a 32"" TV/Monitor for specific purposes and/or reasons, save yourself some money and frustration and get the LN model instead of the UN model variant. Game Mode disables AutoMotion Plus, and the DNIe processor, leaving you with only basic brightness, contrast, white point balance, and backlight control (it also sets the picture type to Standard). This unfortunately is only remedied by the activation of the Game Mode setting (Menu -> Plug&Play -> General -> Game Mode). Second Edit follows regarding LED switch-off. I wanted to give purchasers the most information to arm themselves with. The view from dead center takes a very slight (almost unnoticeable) picture quality hit compared to the ""CN"" panels, but is the best of the group for having many people over to watch sports. If Black Tone is set to DARK, DARKER or DARKEST, it will override the HDMI Black Level [NORMAL] setting and turn off the LEDs as mentioned above. It is FAR less prone to this problem while providing exceptional color accuracy. This review is from: Samsung UN32C6500 32-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV (Black) (Electronics)

NOTE: ADDENDUM BELOW TO LESSEN LED BACKLIGHT BLEED.
NOTE: SECOND ADDENDUM REGARDING ""PANEL LOTTERY""; Addition to info regarding settings to disable LED shutdown (6/30/10)
NOTE: THIRD ADDENDUM: New panel version # discovered :(

The Samsung 32"" LED-LCD TV is a great unit, when used within a very limited fashion.

The LCD panel, as best I can I can determine is of the S-PVA variety, which provides good viewing angles, minimal color shift (assuming minimum viewing distance recommendations being followed), and good color gamut reproduction (>85% NTSC). However, this TV has some very serious flaws that make it a poor choice for many of the would-be purchasers that want a new bedroom TV or intend to use this as a computer monitor (as I do).

The first of these flaws is the edge lit LED backlighting. While it makes the image very vibrant (too much so until you calibrate the monitor properly), it also creates a VERY serious backlight bleed problem. On my set, on a screen that is completely black (minus some random area that isn't black - more on this below) I can see very large, very annoying, and very prominent light penetration from the edge mounted LEDs. While virtually unnoticeable in motion image viewing, it is slightly noticeable in static image viewing of moderate contrast, but is glaringly obvious when dark static imagery is displayed, or dark scenes viewed in movies/games. One would not expect this to be present in a 32"" display like it can be in the larger displays that have a larger (and brighter) set of LEDs.

The next problem is input lag. Activating the 120 Hz AutoMotion Plus mode makes playing games or even basic computer use impossible. There is a very distinct and frustratingly long 200ms (millisecond) delay in video image processing. Samsung knew of this ahead of time, which is made very obvious by the fact that the optical digital output has default delay setting of 100ms (the average time delay of the input lag). This effectively turns your TV into a glorified basic LED backlit LCD computer monitor with speakers. When Samsung says ""picture may be degraded"", they mean simply that your TV will act as a barebones computer monitor with only basic functionality - the picture can still be relatively fine tuned via sharpness and the above mentioned controls, but lacks any enhancements from the DNIe processor. Unfortunately, this is the ONLY way you can use the TV as a computer monitor without pulling your hair out. It is also the only way you can play video games also - the input lag makes all but the least time-sensitive RPG type games unacceptably ""out of sync"" with the user's input. The one bright spot in this mess is that the image is still very clear, very crisp, and surprisingly smooth considering both the size of the display and the 60 Hz refresh rate.

Hinted above, the next problem is a serious flaw in the design of the TV that will be a deal breaker for many video game players. That problem is this: When the TV encounters an ALL BLACK signal, it doesn't just create black pixels within its LCD panel. Instead, it ***deactivates the LEDs themselves***. The LEDs are reactivated once any non-black information is received. This becomes a very apparent problem in games as many have cutscenes, and even live action scenes that fade to black momentarily. This causes the TV to turn its LEDs off completely and reactivate them only once it gets some non-black signal information. Unfortunately, there is a slight (25ms or so) lag when this occurs, and the user can actually miss the beginning of the next scene in a game, as that scene is cut off due to lag time inherent in reactivating the LEDs. This creates a very unnatural look and feel to the use of the TV. While LEDs are nearly instantaneous in their switching, this should not be a feature of the product. Ever. There is a HUGE difference between a backlit black image and a disabling of the LEDs completely. It totally destroys smooth scene transition and continuity. This is one problem Samsung can fix easily with a firmware update that lets the user disable this ""undocumented feature"".

The last of the flaws for this TV lies in its stand. The first problem with the stand is the visual design. The last thing you would want right under your TV is light being emitted via reflection, causing you to have distractions during viewing, but this stand does just that, as it is a polished aluminum type stand that WILL reflect light from the display. Their previous line's rectangular stand did not have this problem. The stand also has another nagging issue, and that is that it is insufficient for the TV's breadth and weight. Despite the TV being slim and not too heavy compared to conventional C/CCFL backlit LCD monitors, the TV leans forward about 3-5 degrees, even with the stand securely fastened via the five screws tightly. This causes colors near the bottom of the screen to appear washed out (faded about 20% compared to the center of the screen) unless the user(s)' eyes are at a level slightly below the screen's vertical centerline. The stand's lack of a tilt function (and way to lock the stand in place once it's adjusted) is simply unacceptable in this day and age of TV/monitor mounting technology. The ""one size fits all"" approach of the stand limits how and where you can effectively place this TV if you are unable to mount it to any of the varieties of wall mounts.

This TV's LCD panel is bright, crisp, and remarkably clear itself. It would be nice if the panel wasn't glossy, as that does reflect ambient light somewhat, but this isn't a killer flaw like the ones mentioned above. The features that this TV has are very well done for the most part (streamed video format issues aside), and you do get a lot of display capability for this size class.

However, I cannot recommend this TV to anybody that plays games, or intends to do any computer work on it. The backlight flaws are serious, and the backlight bleed especially is horrendous, and makes this TV seem like a first generation product instead of the latest and greatest. This is one of the few Samsung products I've seen that goes below mediocrity and feels like corners were cut left and right on the basics, which gimp the esoteric features of the monitor. Also, the AutoMotion Plus 120 Hz mode actually interferes with the natural motion blur inherent in filmed video, causing a kitchy effect and creating an image that has virtually no depth to it at all and feels like you're watching full motion cardboard.

For the pricetag on this TV (approaching $1230 retail after taxes/recycling fees), one would hope that Samsung would have at least done some QA on the LED backlight before releasing this product. it feels rushed and overpriced considering the glaring flaws in the LED technology used.

Note of clarification: The LCD panel itself is great, and is a vast improvement over previous models. It is the LED *backlight* system that is flawed and needs to be addressed. Also note that ""LED"" TVs do not use LEDs for pixels. The video image is generated by standard LCD technology, with the LED part being the backlight, replacing the bulky CFL bulbs in previous generations of LCD displays. LED backlight advantages are near instantaneous switching (but not quite instantaneous as noted above), and they do not change colors over the span of their life like CFLs do.

My recommendation for purchasers is to find a Samsung display that uses what is called ""Full Array/Local Dimming LED Backlighting"". This type of LED backlight is rear mounted instead of edge mounted, and can be dimmed locally, providing exceptionally accurate color rendition with virtually zero backlight bleed. This model's backlight flaws are too great to justify its exorbitant pricetag.

ADDENDUM:

I have found a way to help alleviate some of the backlight bleed and lessen the LEDs' turning off during black scenes. Here are the settings you'll need when using an HDMI connection:

HDMI Black Level: Normal
Shadow Detail: -2 (Default)
Gamma: 0 (Default)
Color Space: Native
Black Tone: Dark (Darker and Darkest work just like HDMI Black Level [Low] and shut down the LEDs) (Default)
Backlight: 14 (Default)
Brightness: Must be greater than 45 (46-100 will work)

With these settings, you will be able to maintain a very good picture quality while drastically lessening the backlight bleed, and lessening the effect of the LED switch-off during black scenes. Samsung's manual, website, and eveywhere else this TV is posted on fails to mention that the HDMI Black Level is the key to the LED turn off. When set to LOW the LEDs will turn off to simulate perfect blackness, which is bad during games. When set to NORMAL, the TV acts like a regular LCD monitor **if the Black Tone is set to OFF**. NOTE: This setting works in conjunction with Black Tone. For this reason Black Tone [DARK] is the best compromise if you must have darker blacks, otherwise set it to OFF with HDMI Level [NORMAL] set to stop the LEDs from turning off, but at the cost of a degraded dark scene image.

I was able to verify this through extensive troubleshooting (3 hours!) because I had the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm teaser trailer on my computer. The first frame is total blackness. The second frame has a BARELY visible ESRB rating logo, leaving the edges black enough to check on the backlight bleed. Through careful calibration, I finally got good picture quality with less of an LED switch-off issue. YAY!

NOTE: Color Space should be set to NATIVE, or else the picture will look like you're watching the TV through fog or a screen door due to excessive grays.

I hope these details help potential purchasers of this TV. And thank you for actually reading through this long winded review.

Sidenote: The reason that I presume Samsung did things the way they did with regard to the LED switch-off is to hide this TV's very severe design flaw with regard to the LED backlight bleed. On a totally black screen with HDMI Black Level [NORMAL] and Black Tone [OFF] you will definitely notice a butterfly pattern of light behind the LCD panel, as well as a spotlight effect coming from all four corners. Samsung would do well to just get rid of edge lit LED and use local dimming instead.

BEWARE OF THE PANEL LOTTERY: Last year, Samsung had only two different manufacturers for their panels. This year, there are FIVE, count them FIVE. While not all of the manufacturers are known, there are some details known about the version numbers and what type of picture quality hit you can expect from each one. Here they are:

NOTE: Panel version numbers are in THREE PLACES - 1) On the side of the box. 2) On the back of the TV. 3) On the inside of the TV on the back of the panel itself (DO NOT open the TV to look!)

SQxx: ""S"" panels have the widest viewing angles of all of the panels for this series. More prone to backlight bleed/clouding than ""CN"" panels. If you like sports and have friends that come over, ASK FOR A TV with ""CN"" as the beginning of the panel version number.

CNxx: ""C"" panels have the poorest viewing angles of all of the known panels at this time. Where they shine is their viewing from directly in front of the TV. If you use this as a computer monitor and/or do not view the TV from anywhere other than in front of it, this is the panel you want. Suffers much less from backlight bleed than the ""SQ"" panels, but this issue is still present (as noted in my review, which is a ""CN"" panel). If you use this TV as a monitor, ask for a TV with ""CN"" as the version number.

The other three panels that are more rarely seen (not seen enough to even review them!): GA, AO, BO. Because these three panel types are far less widely seen, no info really exists on them. You want the first two panel versions, preferrably SQ (unless you view from off-angles). ADDENDUM 07/01/10: A new panel ""FB"" has been seen in the 6000 series. That grows the panel lottery to SIX different manufacturers now. UGH.

P.S. - Avoid using TweakTV to search for calibration settings. You'll find much better calibration settings at AVSForums. Go there and do a search for ""UN32C6500"". The poster ""hearrean"" has very good settings, and the thread devoted to the 6000 series from Samsung is a goldmine for good info about this, and others in the 6000 series.

The Good:
*Vibrant colors--of that ancient, grunting, CRT-watching man might solely dream.
*HD content is displayed thus realistically i will quit my job and live below a bridge to look at TV all day.
*Even standard-def shows look quite sensible on this set, like super models solely 5 or 10 years past their prime.
*Black levels are considerably deeper than i might have expected based mostly on all the web whinging regarding edge-lit LED screens (e.g., ""Give me native dimming, or offer me death!"").
*Supa-thin profile makes the compact fluorescent ""flat"" panels look McDonald's chubby.

The Tolerable:
*Crowded buttons on the remote, that I hardly use in favor of the cable company's universal (or perhaps no over planetary) remote. i will solely obtain the Samsung remote every now and then to regulate advanced settings, however once I do, I typically push an unintended button.
*Very slight edge-lit brightness on black borders. a lot of of what is on TV can fill the screen, thus you will not even have the chance to note the impact. Really, it isn't that bad--I've seen way worse lightweight leakage whereas watching movies on my 2007 alum iMac.

The Tolerated:
*There's just one issue that bugs me somewhat, and it isn't a deal breaker. (Besides, I already bought the TV, therefore the deal has been, well. . . concluded, if you need to.) When the screen is usually black and solely alittle graphic is displayed somewhere, the LEDs go somewhat dim--

I bought the LG 55LX6500 HDTV as a bundled deal that included an LG BX580 3D/Network/BluRay player and 4 LG 3D glasses. additionally I bought the SquareDeal 4-year warranty and took advantage of the Amazon.com Store card's twenty four month no interest special financing deal, that was the deal-clincher on behalf of me. the complete bundle was around 2 and a 0.5 grand. I've seen that on this same model in Best obtain only for the TV, that the Amazon bundle was quite a deal. the complete bundle was free shipping (and no taxes). Overall, it absolutely was a deal i could not pass up.

DELIVERY
The LG TV arrived in but per week, the BluRay player afew days earlier, and also the 3D active-shutter glasses arrived a handful weeks later. Neither the BluRay player, nor the HDTV comes with an HDMI cable. What LG provides is that the wimpy yellow, red, white low-resolution analog cable trio. Not as well as an HDMI high speed cable is, in my opinion, a poor selling call by LG as a result of you cannot get the most effective image while not an HDMI cable hookup. however do not be discouraged by it - the LG puts out an incredible image, and you'll be able to obtain HDMI cables fairly cheaply on the net, though the bubble wrapped varieties in retail stores are terribly expensive.

When the LG HDTV arrived, the delivery service was speculated to hook it up and verify it works -- power and film, and sound - that is all. They additionally suggested me to

First off, I actually have had an 40"" Samsung for three years and are very happy with it. it's a matte screen so is what i used to be longing for. truly} did not wish any glare thus I actually was viewing LG's since they're one among few corporations that create 50""+ lcds with matte screens. CNET reviewed the LG's with high marks similarly thus i used to be just about dead set on an LG.

So I visited Fry's, Bestbuy, HHgregg, and native TV search simply looking for the product. I undoubtedly liked the photographs of the LG's. the colours are on par with the Samsungs and therefore the washout from off angles is additionally higher. however i could not live through the easy undeniable fact that the Samsungs simply looked higher. each store I visited i used to be like yeah there is glare, however when the screen is absolutely lit you do not very see it, and you recognize we tend to all were used to CRT glass screens for years. The LG technically had deeper blacks, however actually the matte refraction light-weight created the screen appear additional grayish and therefore the shiny screens gave the impression to have deeper blacks owing to clarity. Also, the clarity of the photographs within the Samsungs was noticeably higher. only 1 of these belongings you simply see and say yeah that is higher. For a final look, I brought my wife for her opinion and she or he purpose right to the Samsung because the higher image.

So as a matte end fan and every one the technical skills of the LG's I had to travel with the Samsung. Beyond the a

Got this, my 1st HDTV, for $749 total delivered. appears like an excellent deal. Has the AA01 panel:

PROS: excellent HD image, that becomes beautiful with sensible supply material (after calibrating the image); wonderful SD image (better than the {great|the nice} CRT TV it replaced); heaps of controls for picture calibration; streaming Netflix is great, the Pandora app has become my household's new supply for music of all kinds, either through the TV speakers or piped to the stereo; ethernet makes upgrading firmware and net apps terribly straightforward; legion connectivity; easy to line up; light; swivel stand works well; power efficient; does not get hot; no noise or buzz; no dead or stuck pixels; has analog audio out jack (important for recent A/V receivers); functions as an impressive pc monitor (with DVI-to-HDMI cable); shiny screen helps image and repels dust; cannot even notice the red ""Touch of Color"" style.

CONS: Though black levels are usually excellent, when the screen and space are each dark you'll see some flashlighting round the corners and a few bleedthrough of the backlight; terribly quick motion on screen can cause transient pixelization and loss of image clarity (has to be terribly quick motion -- soccer and alternative sports look great); image quality degrades quickly as you progress off-center (though not the maximum amount as in another LCD TVs); needs major image calibration out of the

So far, this TV ROCKS! I bought from Amazon as a result of the worth was fantastic, shipping was free, no tax, and that i used gift certificates from an explicit food market, that gave me $ off at the gas pump. All of this was, of course, once choosing Samsung and this specific model, and then searching around for worth. I knew I needed a 46"" LCD for my front room, thus I started trying. At 1st, i used to be gonna get the Toshiba 46G300U for $650 throughout Black Friday at Shmears, however once visiting several stores, i used to be drawn to Samsung's image clarity. simply amazing! A store I liked lots was HHShmeggs as a result of that they had such a lot of to decide on from and also the store lighting within the TV section was closest to my actual front room.

So, I ordered from Amazon and a number of days later, there have been two delivery guys at my front door. The TV have to be compelled to me before some things that I ordered days earlier! They brought Bessie in and were somewhat alert to my carpet by asking if I had one thing to line the box on (never mind that they were carrying their shoes, however I digress). I grabbed an previous blanket and that they set her down. They asked if they'll open it to examine the screen and that i said yes. They fell it out fastidiously and set it down. we have a tendency to all looked over the screen with a flashlight. Everything looked smart. I had them place it back within the box to permit it to urge to space temp before setting it up. that they had me sign that it had been in

First, let me clarify that the TV is, in fact, native 1080p. absolute confidence concerning it.

Second, the panel on this TV is created by Samsung, and also the quality is great.

Third, TCL's web site encompasses a notice service center location search and it's quite in depth ..

Based on the 2 year warrantee, what i'm seeing with my TV and Amazons glorious delivery, i am giving this set a Best get rating ..

UPDATE 11/16/2010 .. this set is simply plain glorious .. and Amazon service is high of the road .. my set developed a skinny blue vertical line, I contacted Amazon, they picked up the set following day and delivered a brand new set at constant time .. exhausting to beat that ..

Update 11/17/2010 .. it is a bit tiresome obtaining messages from people who 1) haven't got the TV and need to slam it in a very public review 2)Know very little to nada concerning TV's .. I had an electronic repair business for ten years and i have worked on lots of TV's .. therefore i do know what i am talking concerning .. any TV by any maker isn't 100 excellent 100 of the time .. I stand by the actual fact that this can be a good set .. hey, if you do not need to shop for it, go get one thing from the native 'Mart or what not .. or get nothing the least bit .. matters to not me .. i believe you will be missing out on a good deal, however ..

UPDATE 12/08/2010 .. due to Original side Ratio .... you would possibly do that on any remote and see if it works .. what have you ever got t

I own a fifty six in. Samsung DLP (have for a few time now) and love the issue. therefore when it had been time to induce a flat screen for my bedroom (the previous CRT simply had to go), I went right to Samsung. My wants were thirty two inches, a pair of or additional HDMI inputs, a minimum of one analog composite input, a minimum of one analog element input and a QAM tuner. I checked out a couple of models from different vendors (the usual suspects, Sony, Toshiba, Hitachi, etc., excluding Visio, not an opportunity that junk enters my home) and for the foremost half they were terribly similar within the options they offered. Samsung LCD HDTV 3D model was a trifle higher than a number of the others within the same price/size vary and it had some further cool options (ability to show pictures from camera) and given my past expertise with Samsung, I purchased this model.

I mounted the TV to the wall (using a Cheetah) and can't be additional happy. The QAM tuner found all of the cable channels that were offered (although it might are nice to only have it rummage around for digital channels, I had to travel back when the hunt and manually take away the analog junk). the opposite inputs worked of course. The remote management isn't unhealthy however it lacks a button to show Closed Captions on/off (you ought to navigate the menus to show on/off, what a hassle). image quality is nice, and also the sound is what you expect for in-built speakers (not nice, however sufficient)

All of that said, I provide this baby 2 thumb

I knew I needed a samsung HDTV as a result of I even have heard nice things from friends who apprehend a lot of regarding technology than I do. I even have not been disappointed within the least with my purchase. The tv has nice sound and movie quality each in dark/dim lighting additionally as in an exceedingly sun drenched space. The tv is in an exceedingly bedroom that it's an ideal size for. it had been straightforward found out, I did it alone. The box will tell have 2 individuals work on it however positively doable to try and do alone if nobody is around and you're impatient. For found out you may would like a Phillips head screw driver. the sole draw back that has nothing to try and do with the tv directly was that fedex left the package on my front stoop once I wasn't home and it comes in an exceedingly factory box with an image of the tv on the box, simply one thing to use caution of if you order this product.

Samsung LCD HDTV 3D review is from: Samsung LN32C550 32-Inch 1080p sixty Hz LCD HDTV (Black) (Electronics)

I bought this TV once reading alot of reviews and many visits to store to match totally different 32"" size TVs offered by Sony, Samsung, LG and Panasonic. Samsung LCD HDTV 3D was among the most effective and high of the road Samsung 'LCD' 1080p HDTV model in thirty two in. series. Finally I narrowed down my search to Sony's Bravia 32"" KDL32EX400 and Samsung's LNC530 and LNC550.
All three HDTVs have lots of things in common like 1080p res, 60Hz refresh rate, CCFL LCD Panel, HDMI/USB ports, Picture-in-Pictur
